Mumbai gets another AC cab service March 30, 2007 6:51 PM
A new AC taxi service, called Meru, will be launched on Friday. The
promoters claim they have chauffeurs trained by an Austrian company and
work practices designed by multinational consultants Accenture, besides
tamper proof meters.
Neeraj Gupta, managing director of V-Link, which will run Meru, said,
"Initially to operate between Colaba and Charni Road, the service will
charge Rs 15 for the first kilometer and Rs 13 per km after that,"
Gupta said.
Transport consultants agreed that private cabs are needed in the city, but said the tamper-proof claim remains to be proved.
