V-LINK WINS EXCELLENCE AWARD, MD AWARDED UDYOG RATTAN

The Institute of Economic Studies (IES) has conferred the Udyog Rattan Award to Mr. Neeraj Gupta, Managing Director of V-Link Taxis and has given V-Link Taxis Pvt. Ltd. an Excellence Award in recognition of the high quality of transport services provided by the company. The award ceremony was held at the Indian Habitat Centre in New Delhi on 4th September 2007.
V-Link, a leading fleet management company, recently launched 'Meru', a world-class metered call taxi service in Mumbai in association with India Value Fund, a premier Private Equity fund. V-Link will expand its services to Delhi in the near future and eventually, aims to manage a fleet of at least 10,000 cabs across major metros of the country in the next 3 to 5 years.
Present at the awards ceremony, Mr. Gupta said, "It is a
great honour to receive this award from the IES. V-Link has aimed to
provide a consistently high standard of transportation solutions in all
our enterprises, both fleet management and the Meru taxi service. This
award is a validation for all our endeavours and we are grateful for
this recognition."
The Institute of Economic Studies (IES), established in
1980 by a group of economists, parliamentarians and industrialists,
conducted a seminar on Economic Development to study and discuss
problems concerning various aspects of the economy and economic
development in India at which the Awards were conferred on V-Link and
Mr. Neeraj Gupta.
Since the launch of the service in April 2007, Meru has
expanded its fleet to over 150 taxis and is executing over 400 bookings
per day in Mumbai. Meru uses high-end GPS and GPRS technology in Maruti
Esteem vehicles to ensure that passengers receive a timely response.
Meru currently provides customers with services like- "Dial-a-Meru" and
"Meru-on-the-Net", an umbrella and first-aid kit service for the
monsoons and gives customers a printed receipt of the fare. A panic
button and tamper proof electronic meter are also installed in the
taxi.
