This grand mansion was built by the Peshwa Bajirao I himself as the residence of the Peshwas. The mansion was gutted by fire and what now remains is ruins of the once seven-storied mansion.

Aga Khan Palace

Aga Khan Palace was built by Sultan Muhammed Shah Aga Khan III in 1892. It is an important place for India's struggle for freedom. At this very palace, Mahatma Gandhi, his wife Kasturba Gandhi, his secretary Mahadev Desai and Sarojini Naidu were imprisoned. Kasturba Gandhi and Mahadev Desai died here. The place is now turned into a museum.

National Defence Academy
